Joe "Mama" Mason was one of Saint Louis Missouri's most popular DJs during the late '70's, 80's and early 90's, culminating with a #1-rated Morning Radio Show. He started his career at KSLQ (98.1 FM), went to KCFM (93.7 FM), then KSHE-95 (94.7 FM) and KSD-FM (93.7 FM), although he is mostly remembered for his work at KSHE. He did some print modeling for Dillards, Joe Boxer, O'Doull's and other clients, then went into television and film, and became an on-camera reporter (KPLR-TV Reporter, CNN Stringer, VH-1 host), Awards Show host (Daytime Emmy Awards, PROmo Awards) and actor [Return to Hannibal (Disney), Chevy Trucks (TV), and more]. He then focused his career on directing, which included work on Blue Man Group, Netflix's House of Cards, and commercial clients from AMC Theatres, Coca-Cola, Bud Light, and many more.

Mr. Mason has always been active in charity work, as well as assisting the homeless, and served on various Charitable boards of Directors including March of Dimes' Bikers for Babies, NATAS (the television organization that awards the EMMY® award) and the City of Saint Louis' Lyon Sister City Organization. He was recently inducted into the Saint Louis Classic Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
